SyncMyCal supports Contacts Sync but do not support Task Sync at present. You can get the Contacts Sync in 2.5.266 and above versions.

 
 

No, SyncMyCal license policy allows a single user to register SyncMyCal on multiple machines using the same license key for the personal use.

 
 

You can surely register SyncMyCal to the new machine. We have introduced Register/Unregister functionality for the same purpose. When you change the machine then You need to unregister SyncMyCal from the older machine so that your license count do not get incremented.

To Unregister from the older machine, please go to SyncMyCal menu >> click ‘Unregister menu item. On ‘Unregister’ window, please click ‘Unregister’ to unregister SyncMyCal from the machine.

Now, you may register SyncMyCal to the new machine with the license key and registration that we supplied you after SyncMyCal license purchase.

No, SyncMyCal does not support Web Outlook. So it can’t be used for Web Outlook calendar, as SyncMyCal is a desktop Outlook plug-In application.

 
 

You get a "Captcha Required" alert from Google service when there have been frequent unsuccessful attempts to login to your Google account. Most common reason for this is incorrect password. The Google service looks at this as an attempt by a software program to capture your account and thus it locks it, thereby giving you a "Captcha required" alert.

To unlock your Google account from the "Captcha required" state, you should click on the following link,

and then enter your Google account credentials along with the Text shown in the image in the required field. Successful attempt would make your Google account operational again.

  1. If you are using simple Google account :

The Error normally appears when you enter incorrect Google username or password.

Typically, this is experienced when you change your Google account's password on the web (in your Google calendar interface) while you do not update the same in SyncMyCal.

To resolve the issue, please ensure your Google credential by logging to Google and enter the same Google credential in SyncMyCal.

2. If you are using Google apps account :

This error may occur when you enter incorrect Google username/password or if your account is locked (CAPTCHATM) and you have to unlock the account by going to following URL.

(example : https://www.google.com/a/MyDomain.info/UnlockCaptcha)

Once you have unlocked your account by visiting on this page, you should be able to run SyncMyCal without facing this error.

    Please click SyncMyCal set up installer icon to start the installation. Please complete the installation.


  • If you still can't locate the tool bar then
    1. Please Go to
      (Outlook XP/2003) Tools>>Options>>Other>>Advanced Option>>COM AddIns (Outlook 2007) Tools>>Trust Center>>AddIns>>Manage (COM AddIns)>>Go


    2. Check if SyncMyCal toolbar listing is checked or not.

      1. If it is unchecked, please check it and then click on the OK button. SyncMyCal toolbar would start appearing in Outlook.

        2. Now, please click on the COM AddIns button and then check it again and then click on the OK button. SyncMyCal toolbar would start appearing in Outlook.

    2. Check if SyncMyCal-Google/Outlook Sync AddIn checkbox is checked or not.

      1. If it is unchecked, please check it and then click on the OK button. SyncMyCal toolbar would start appearing in Outlook under Addins.


      2. If it is already checked, then
        1. Please uncheck it and then click on the OK button.
        2. Now, please click on the COM AddIns button and then check it again and then click on the OK button. SyncMyCal toolbar would start appearing in Outlook under Addins.

I need to uninstall SyncMyCal. Would I lose all the Sync step that I have created when I’ll uninstall it?
  No, the synchronization steps are stored in registry so even you uninstall SyncMyCal, your Sync Step is saved in registry. When you reinstall SyncMyCal again then all your Sync Step would get loaded in SyncMyCal.
 
Does SyncMyCal Lite version expires? What is the limitation for SyncMyCal Lite version?
  SyncMyCal Lite version never expires. You can use the application as long as you want. We have applied limitation over the number of days within which the events can be synced. Please refer http://syncmycal.com/compare_versions.htm to see comparison for SyncMyCal Lite and Pro version in terms of functionality.
 
I need to import the Sync Step from one machine to another machine. How can I do it?
  Please go to Start >> Run >> please type ‘regedit’ and enter to open ‘Registry editor page. Please expand HKEY_CURRENTUSER >> Software >> Outlook-GcalPlugin >> please right click the ‘Outlook-GcalPlugin’ folder. Please click the ‘Export’ menu item save this file to some location.

You may copy this file to the new machine. Please click the file to the machine in which you want to save the sync step. Sync Step would get saved in the new machine.

  2. Please go to Start >> Run >> open Registry editor by typing ‘regedit’.


  3. On 'Registry Editor' window, please go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT >>CLSID >> {0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} >> InProcServer32.

    At the right pane, please double click 'Default', this opens 'Edit String' window. Please see if some value is set for the 'Default'.

    If some value is set then please right click the 'Default' and click the 'Delete' button to delete the value that is set for the 'Default'. We need to have the 'Default' value as null. Please refer to the screen shot below :

  Contact Sync feature is available with the Pro version. Please ensure that you have registered SyncMyCal to the Pro version.

If you have already registered SyncMyCal to the Pro version then please go to SyncMyCal >> Setting >> Sync Operation >> ‘Add’, drop down would display the option for ‘Contact Sync’ as displayed below:

  This error appears when you do not provide full user name for the username field on Add/Edit Contacts field.

Please go to SyncMyCal >> Settings >> Sync Operation >> select the contacts sync operation and click ‘Edit’ to open ‘Edit Contacts Step’ window >> give your full Google user name (e.g. abc@gmail.com) in the user name field under Google account section. Save the settings.

This would resolve your issue.

  This error normally appears when you add new contacts and insert the email address that you have already added to some other contacts too. This causes conflict, as Google does not allow two contacts with the same email address.

Please ensure that the new contacts that you just created do not have email address, which is already added in any other contacts. If found, please change the email id, your issue would be resolved.
 
My events from Outlook calendar gets synchronized to Google calendar successfully however the reminder that I set in Outlook calendar does not get synced to Google calendar. Please suggest the resolution?
  This error normally appears when you have not set default reminder in Google calendar.

Please open Google calendar, click Manage Calendar >> click the ‘calendar’ link to open’ calendar’ page >> click ‘Notifications’ >> click the link ‘Add a reminder’ and add a default reminder as displayed below.
 
  This would resolve your issue.
 
I am using Outlook express. Can I use SyncMyCal to sync Google calendar with my Express ?
  SyncMyCal does not work with Express. It synchronizes Outlook calendar with Google calendar and vice versa.
 
I have just Upgraded SyncMyCal to new version. The installation is successful however I can’t see the tool bar in my Outlook ?
  Please ensure that you have installed all the pre requisites needed for SyncMyCal. Please click http://syncmycal.com/google_calendar_synchronization.htm to get the list of the pre requisites for SyncMyCal.
 
  1. If all the pre requisites are installed then please uninstall SyncMyCal from the machine. Please go to the parent directory where you installed SyncMyCal (typically, C:\Program files) and then see that there is no folder named "Synchronization Technologies Inc" on your machine. If you do find it, please delete it.


  2. If OS is Windows XP
    Please click SyncMyCal set up installer icon to start the installation. Please complete the installation.


  3. If OS is Windows Vista
    Please RIGHT CLICK ON SYNCMYCAL SETUP ICON AND THEN CLICK ON THE "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" OPTION. This would start the installer and you can follow the steps to install SyncMyCal on your machine.
  4. If OS is Windows 7
    Please RIGHT CLICK ON SYNCMYCAL SETUP ICON AND THEN CLICK ON THE "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" OPTION. This would start the installer and you can follow the steps to install SyncMyCal on your machine.


  5. If you still can't locate the tool bar then
    1. Please Go to
      (Outlook 2010-32 bit/64 bit) File>>Options>> AddIns >> Manage (COM AddIns)>>Go


    2. Check if SyncMyCal-Google/Outlook Sync AddIn checkbox is checked or not.

      1. If it is unchecked, please check it and then click on the OK button. SyncMyCal toolbar would start appearing in Outlook under Addins.


      2. If it is already checked, then
        1. Please uncheck it and then click on the OK button.
        2. Now, please click on the COM AddIns button and then check it again and then click on the OK button. SyncMyCal toolbar would start appearing in Outlook under Addins.


Please restart the outlook after the SyncMyCal is successfully installed to see whether the tool bar starts appearing in outlook or not.
 
   
I have been using SyncMyCal for years flawlessly. Today SyncMyCal decided not to work. The error message I am getting says, "InnerException : Root element is missing" and "Configuration system failed to initialize”. Please suggest the resolution.
   
 

If OS is XP,go to
C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft_Corporation,

If OS is VISTA,go to
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Local\Microsoft_Corporation,                       

and delete all the files that are present in ‘Microsoft_Corporation’ folder. Uninstall SyncMyCal from the machine. Go to Program Files >> search for the folder ‘Synchronization Technologies Inc’ folder. If found then please delete it.

Please download SyncMyCal set up from http://syncmycal.com/google_calendar_synchronization.htm and install it. This would resolve your machine.
